A Closer Look
The MM800 comes hard-wired with a slim and braided USB cable, meaning it’s as simple as plug and play to get it up and running. However, if you want to customise the settings, and you will want to, you’ll need to download the CUE software from the Corsair Gaming website.
Don’t worry about losing one of your USB ports either, as the MM800 comes with a USB pass-through port right at the back; the perfect place to connect your gaming mouse!
The gaming surface is lightly textured, but quite hard, giving it a low-friction finish that will provide you with plenty of glide. While not really pushed as a feature, I should also work well with another mouse mat on top should you have any reason to switch to a softer surface for a while.
If we zoom in, you can just about make out that light textured finish to the gaming surface. While the edge of the mat is RGB, it has a nice trim on the edge that looks pretty neat and tidy with the lights off. There is also a Corsair logo in the bottom right corner, but don’t worry, that’s also RGB-lit too.
Flip the mat over, you’ll find a full-cover rubber grip coating. This is great for those with smooth desks (such as glass) as it’ll ensure the MM800 doesn’t slide around one bit while you’re using it.
