Corsair MM800 RGB Polaris Gaming Mouse Pad Review

We can’t really see a Corsair RGB mouse mat in all its glory without a Corsair RGB mouse! So we’ve brought one out to show off the ways you can blend RGB effects from one product to the other.

As you can see, the mouse looks right at home here, and it also helps better show the size of the MM800, which is actually quite large in my opinion. I’m not saying it’s too big, but those with limited desk space should be warned that it might not be suitable for the space you have.

As you can see, the mouse matt has a very nice edge lighting effect to it. By default, it’s on a colorful rainbow flow effect that moves smoothly around the edges, with very nice colour transitions. I took a lot of pictures as the lighting rolled around the edges, so feel free to scroll through them and take a nice look at those rich colours.

Now it’s time to roll out with the mouse in place too, and by default, the mouse has its own RGB profiles and settings, and that’s something you can do if you want them both to have their own effects, or you can use the CUE 2.0 software to sync the effects, and this is true for your Corsair keyboard, mouse, headset and anything else that’s CUE 2.0 ready from their range.

We used the latest CUE software beta download to ensure we had all the latest features at our disposal. Straight away we can see all the usual settings are in place, as well as the fact the software has had a bit of a face lift since we last used it in a review.

The mouse and MM800 can have their own effects selected easily from the drop down menu for each, and they’re very self-explanatory.

The one that really captured our eye is “lighting link” which syncs all capable devices lighting effects.

The MM800 has a nice range of effects to choose from too, some more subtle and some that are a little too (literally) flashy for my liking.

Sometimes a picture speaks a 1000 words, but now and then, a video speaks a thousand more. I used a secondary mouse to flick through the lighting profiles and show you the MM800 in action; sorry for the camera wobble, it wasn’t an ideal setup, but it gets the point over.
