A Closer Look – Interior

The interior of the 500D is really nicely laid out and offers up lots of space for high-end hardware. There’s a massive cut-out behind the motherboard, allowing you to more easily install/remove CPU cooler mounts without removing the motherboard. Plus there are cable routing holes in all the right places around the motherboard. Furthermore, there are cable grommets to the right of the motherboard, angled slightly toward it for easy cable pass-through.

In the front, you’ll find room for 3 x 120mm fans or up to a 360mm radiator. There’s a single 120mm fan pre-installed, giving us two in total thanks to the exhaust fan in the rear. Of course, I’d expect most 500D owners to add more fans anyway, most likely from Corsair AIO coolers, fan kits, etc.

There’s plenty of room in the top for a good size radiator too, and it’ll manage up to a 280mm should you need it. There’s great clearance from the motherboard mounting, but remember, always measure twice before you buy your radiators. Plus, you’ll get another 120mm radiator in the rear, giving you loads of options here.

The PSU shroud in the bottom is great, offerings up plenty of room to stash both the PSU, as well as any excess cables. It’s made from metal too, giving it the same premium quality and durability as the rear of the chassis.

Around the back of the motherboard tray, you’ll find all kinds of cool features! There’s room here for two 3.5″ drives on the left, thanks to some easy to remove mounting brackets. You can mount 2.5″ drives in them too with the included screws.

There are three removable SSD mounts too, all lined up next to each other. These are perfect for showing off your SSD configuration through the side panel window.

Cable routing should be a breeze too, with a screw-on cable cover allowing you to lock everything down and keep things looking neat and tidy. It’ll likely require a bit more effort, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it.
