Corsair Peripherals for around £150 – But Are They Any Good?

Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

Of course, you don’t have to buy everything I’ve listed here at once. In fact, you don’t have to buy it at all, but I am trying to help guide you towards them. Why? Because they’re great value for money, looks great and the performance is superb for these prices, that’s why! As you can see, you can pick the whole set up for around £150, which is not too shabby for brand name hardware, and a complete gaming peripheral setup.

Total £152.91

Overview

Corsair has a strong reputation to uphold in the gaming market. Sure, their flagship keyboards, mice, and headsets are far from cheap. However, you do get a lot of premium features and build quality for your investment. I’d also say the aesthetics are better on their flagship. However, cheaper doesn’t have to mean bad, as is the case with what I tested today. Sure, there are a few more plastic surfaces, no mechanical switches, and the RGB is a bit limited. However, at the end of the day, they’re great products to use for work and gaming, and then you could do a lot worse for the same kind of money.

Alternatives?

Corsair has a lot to choose from, as do many other brands of course. You could always look higher up their range for a more expensive keyboard for example, while keeping your budget down by grabbing the Harpoon mouse or HS50 gaming headset. The choice is really yours here. You can mix brands too if you so desire. However, I find there’s a hidden joy in having something on my desktop from matching brands, perhaps due to it being a luxury this job doesn’t often afford me due to my constant mixing and testing many brands devices.

Work or Gaming

Overall, the Corsair devices we’ve tested today work well for pretty much any scenario. They’re not what I would call eSports grade gaming peripherals, but for casual at home gamers and those who like to compete online, in a non-professional manner, they’re more than fit for the job. Maybe they’re a bit “RGB” for the office, but since I work from a home office, I don’t much fuss and enjoy the added colour. Either way, from working on your next email to thrashing your buddies in DOTA II, there’s something for everyone here.
