Fan Speed

The Corsair RM 750X does not have a hybrid mode. Instead, it relies on self-regulation to only turn on the fan when absolutely necessary. This is a nice option as firstly, it is entirely self-regulating and as such you do not need to consider the use of a hybrid mode. Secondly, at low to average usage, the fan will not operate at all. Why is this good? Because if the fan isn’t running your system is quieter!!

As can be seen in the results below, the fan does not even begin to operate until around 60% power output. This is surprisingly a little better than the figures suggested on the packaging which suggests it should kick in around 40%. It is also clearly a testament to the interior design allowing for a good air flow between all the electronics.

In our testing, once at 60%, the fan does almost immediately go up to its maximum speed of 645rpm. Despite this though, it is still exceptionally quiet.
