Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts
How Much Does it Cost?
Honestly, I think the price of the Scimitar Pro RGB Optical MMO Gaming Mouse is the most impressive thing. While it launched with an MSRP of £74.99, you can actually pick one up for just £59.00. That’s incredible value for money for a premium gaming mouse, let alone one with so many features. For full RGB, a 16K sensor, and 17 buttons with full customisation, you’ll struggle to beat that from any big name brand.
Overview
I’m a big fan of the Corsair gaming product range in general. Time and time again they continue to impress with their features, performance and occasionally their value. Admittedly, some of their products are expensive, but you often get what you pay for. However, the Scimitar is on the other side and is pretty incredible value for money overall. I also love that Corsair doesn’t simply release a product and leave it as it is. The Scimitar Pro is the latest incarnation of this mouse, and while the core features are identical, the improved software and sensor are noticeable upgrades to an already impeccable product.
Customisation
I mean, I could write a review twice this size and not cover everything that can be done with the Scimitar Pro. The 12 button side panel alone is a wealth of options for you to play around with. Mechanically speaking, it’s an impressive design too and they did a great job on the ergonomics of cramming that many buttons into place. The included tool to move the whole panel is even more impressive. If you find it difficult to use, simply move the pad to somewhere more comfortable and you’ll master all 12 buttons in no time. Then we’ve got the RGB lighting. There are four lighting zones on the mouse, and with LED lighting on the 12 buttons and the side light, they’re easy to read. Then we’ve got button configurations with three profiles onboard. For setting up profiles for your favourite games, software and more, it couldn’t be easier. Of course, you can store more profiles in the software, and move them to the mouse if required.
iCUE
The latest Corsair software is bigger and better than ever. It makes tweaking the mouse button configurations, sensor performance, RGB and more, easier than ever. Furthermore, it works will pretty much all modern Corsair peripherals. If you have a keyboard, mouse, headset, or anything else Corsair, it’s all in one software suite. This means you can have macros that work over multiple devices. It also means you can sync lighting effects and other commands with ease. No more software clutter per peripheral.
Should I Buy One?
This mouse certainly isn’t for everyone, and it’s pretty extreme. If you have five buttons and never wanted for more, this isn’t much use to you… or is it? It’s one of those tools that once you have it and configure it, you’ll wonder how you did without it. I set my multimedia, zoom functions, copy, paste, and all kinds of stuff to my mouse and the productivity boost alone is huge. Then when it comes to gaming, you can streamline so many commands, your enemies will never know what hit them. Sound like something you desire? At this price, you really can take the risk!
