Right now, the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite is priced around £75 in the UK. Personally, I think that’s really good value for what you get. It’s not cheap, but then again, it has a lot more features than your typical gaming mouse. Plus, the performance is utterly flawless, so the extra investment is more than justified here.
Corsair is one of the leading gaming brands and have been for quite some time. They have some of the best PC cases, PSUs, coolers, memory, keyboard and of course, gaming mice. Their reputation gets another boost today, as the Scimitar is one of my favourite mice. I loved the old model, it was perfect as far as I’m concerned. However, they still found room to bring it up to date, with a revised aesthetic, improved RGB, new sensor, new switches, and well, it’s perfect 2.0.
I really have no issues at all with this mouse. It has solid bones, and building a gaming mouse around one of the best sensors on the market today, with some of the best switches, it’s hard to screw things up from there. It’s very comfortable, it’s really well made, and the adjustable ergonomics of the control panel goes a long way too.
Sure, there isn’t really much need for your typical CS:GO player to invest in this mouse. However, if you’re like me and play ESO, or Warcraft, or any complex macro heavy game, the advantages are huge. I’ll admit, it does take some getting used to, but I find it much more comfortable and easy to configure compared to options from Logitech and Razer. Dare I say it, Corsair’s mouse looks better than its many-button rivals too, but I’ll admit that’s subjective.
Do you spend all day kick butt in PVP and needing precision macros and taunt emotes within instant reach? Then this is a real powerhouse peripheral for you. Plus, if you also spend all day working in Premier or Photoshop and need to trick shortcuts and macros to hand, you get the best of both worlds here.
