I have always been a big fan of Corsair packaging, and this unit sticks to the standard template of their units. It has an overall modern design which should appeal to everyone from gamers to enthusiasts and professionals. Corsair has managed to create an design that oozes quality- I have a large stack of PSUs in my office ranging from cheap units to the likes of Antec and Enermax, my Dad came in and pointed straight at this box and said “I bet that one’s good, must be worth a few quid”. This is coming from a man who can’t work Firefox! This means that it should stand out as a high-quality unit to anyone who sees it on a shop shelf- good job Corsair!
The front of the box has a really clean and minimalist look. There is a large closeup of the fan grill covering the front and it tells you everything you need to know when you first want to take a look at it- much like the introduction this review. It tells you the model, the series it is in, the wattage and main features, please go to the next side for more information!
The rear is quite heavily populated with information, but the simple black on white design makes it look a lot less cluttered. It includes a multilingual list and description of all the main features, a list of all the connectors (really like this), power table as well as noise and efficiency graphs for you green gamers.
The sides of the box are left clean and virtually empty.
The top of the box contains more features in a multilingual format.
The bottom of the box contains ‘compatibility information’ which should beplaced on the back with the rest of the specs as naming it ‘compatibility’ only serves to confuse novice system builders who may worry whether or not it will work with their system. Saying that it supports ATX 2.3, 2.2 and 2.01 systems will completely blow the mind of a new user as they won’t have a clue what it even means, let alone whether they have it or not!
All the goodies are contained in this cardboard box- an effective and elegant design.
