Corsair TX850M 80 Plus Gold Power Supply Review

Over Power Protection and Max Wattage

Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of PSUs in this class benching well above their weight, and the latest from Corsair is no exception. Typically, I would expect a PSU of this calibre to pull around 950W at the most before shutting down. The Corsair unit peaked at 1102 before the OPP kicked in, which is pretty nuts, to say the least. Power spikes while gaming? They’re not going to slow this unit down.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
