The Corsair VENGEANCE RGB 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit (CMR32GX4M4C3000C15) is available right now for £324.99. That’s far from affordable, but this is a high-end memory kit, with good speed, and 32 GB is quite a large capacity.
Overview
The latest memory kit from Corsair is one of the best that we have tested. However, I can’t help but feel it had more to deliver at the stock XMP profile. The kit may is rated at 3000 MHz, but for some reason, the stock performance was a bit behind in most tests. However, overclocking this kit to 3333 MHz made a big difference. The Vengeance didn’t even need much effort to overclock, a simple change to the multiplier and a tiny increase in voltage kept it stable. That increase in speed tightened up the latency and gave some big benefits to the overall performance. In all honesty, owning this kit and not overclocking it would be madness.
We’ve seen RGB added to just about every product in the PC market in recent years. Sure, is isn’t exactly something everyone wants, but I must admit that having it on this memory kit has worked well. The colours are vibrant and would certainly stand out in any build. The colour cycle is nice and smooth too, making big bright lights look almost classy.
The build quality is second to none here. The anodised aluminium heat spreaders look stunning with their matte black coating. They have a powder finish feel to them and look very stealthy when powered off. Of course, they’re far from stealthy when powered on; RGB! The black PCB is a nice touch too, it’s only a small detail, but it keeps the aesthetics in check.
While this kit is expensive, you’ll not find a DDR4 3000 MHz memory kit that is. Add the fact it is 4 x 8GB modules, giving us 32 GB total memory, and you’re a long way to justifying the overall price tag.
