Cougar Aqua 240 AIO Cooler Review

Performance
At this risk of offending Cougar, while we were more than certain that this AIO cooler would be more than competant at its job, we didn’t necessarily expect anything overly impressive in terms of it’s performance figures. You know, results that would likely see it sitting somewhere in the middle of the road with other 240mm AIO liquid cooler designs. How wrong we were though!
While the acoustic performance doesn’t offer anything notable in terms of low noise output (in fact, when overclocked it was a little on the noisy side) the key highlight of these results in the truly excellent manner in which it kept the CPU temperatures down and, let’s face it, that’s what the main job of the Cougar Aqua 240 is!
In both our stock and overclocked tests, the Cougar Aqua 240 gave some of the best results we’ve ever seen and, only by a margin of 1 degree, it very nearly topped one of our charts. In a more practical sense, therefore, you could likely trade-off a little of that cooler performance for a moderately quieter experience, but at standard stock levels, you really don’t need to. Just hook this up and enjoy those amazing low CPU temperatures!
