Cougar Armor S Gaming Chair Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The Cougar Armor S Gaming Chair is available now from Amazon UK for just £214.98. Which is very competitive, it’s got all the features of a chair that would normally cost around twice that, and while the price is also double that of cheaper models that are out there, the build quality is far beyond those cookie-cutter gaming chairs that flood the market.
Overview
Cougar is right on the money with their latest gaming chairs, fitting right in between the budget models and premium models. Actually, it’s a little better value than some of its rivals too, who often do not include the two extra cushions for their models around the same price. Plus, this is only £15 more than those garbage xRocker LED chairs, don’t waste your money, if you want quality at a good price, get the Cougar chair, for the love of God.
Cougar does have some fierce competition though, with Corsair, Razer, Nitro, and Aerocool all having competitive options in the same price range. However, Cougar doesn’t skip a beat here, and can go head to head with the best of them, and leave the rest in their dust.
The build quality is robust, without being overly heavy or expensive, a tricky balance to strike. However, it looks and more importantly feels like it was built to last. The PU leather is very nicely crafted, with stunning diamond stitching that makes it more comfortable, and look even more premium. The steel frame doesn’t squeek or creek when you sit down or make adjustments, and those Nylon feel are fitting with great bearings, meaning I can roll across the room with one confident push.
The included cushions are great quality too, with a plentiful stuffing of memory foam, and matching stitch work to the rest of the chair. Plus, they fit with elasticated straps, allowing for a good range of adjustments, and quick and easy installations. However, after extended use, I preferred to keep the head cushion on, but only favoured the backrest for when my kids were using the chair, I liked to use the chair without it. Of course, it’s nice to have the choice.
Ergonomics are king, and this chair takes the crown. It’s got all the same level of adjustments you’d find on the more premium models, and all the mechanisms feel robust and easy to use. I tilt lock for the rocker would be cool, but the rocker mechanism is silky smooth and easy to tune using the dial under the seat. Plus the versatile design of the wrist rests means you can get comfortable very easily.
Overall, I can’t really fault the chair. About the only issue I had was the weird screwdriver being too big on one side… that’s hardly a deal-breaker. If you’re looking for a competitively priced chair, with durable build quality, great ergonomics and a striking aesthetic, the Cougar Armor S is perfect for you!
