Cougar Challenger Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Today I’m taking a look at the Cougar Challenger Mid-Tower PC Chassis, a rather uniquely designed mid budget gaming chassis that is set to stun and shock both at the same time. After recently reviewing the Cougar Evolution, a much toned down chassis with some really nice features on it, I was keep to take a look at a 2nd offering from the chassis manufacturer.

We posted a couple of photos from this review up on our Facebook page recently and it caused quite a stir of love and hate for the design, so I’m sure some of you are keen to see what the rest of the chassis looks like and how well it performs when we take a closer look at it. Cougar have been making PC chassis from about 5 years now and already have a good fan base established thanks to the quality of the products they produce and their fresh approaches to chassis design.

“COUGAR is particularly targeting enthusiast gamers who not only demand state-of-the-art PC chassis and highly efficient power supplies, but also want to express their dynamic gaming lifestyle with reliable quality products.” – www.cougar-world.com

Taking a look at the specification of the Challenger, we’re not short on features;

  • USB 3.0 ports
  • External HDD/SSD mount
  • Support for 7 fans
  • 200mm RED LED fan and 120mm Cougar Turbine fan pre-installed
  • Max GPU length of 300mm, 330mm & 410mm
  • 7 PCI slots
  • 7 HDD trays that support both 3.5″ and 2.5″ drives.
So lets start by taking a closer look at the Cougar Challengers packaging and see just what comes included in the box, then we’ll take a closer look at the unique styling that cougar have applied to this very interesting looking chassis.
