Cougar GX-F Aurum 550w Power Supply Review

Packaging

The Cougar GX-F Aurum carries the distinctive black and orange colouring that has become well associated with the brand. Leading off front and centre, the packaging carries a nice large image of the power supply in all of its gold glory!

What the front lacks in specifics and details, the rear certainly makes up for in truck loads. You’re given a whole host of useful information about this power supply to ensure that you’re amazingly well informed about what level of performance you can expect.

Finally, and this is a minor point I know, but it’s certainly something of an occasion when you open the box. Everything folds out with cardboard compartments/containing for all of the individual components.

Accessories

As this is a power supply, you clearly don’t expect too have too much in the way of accessories. I mean, presumably, you like the power supply actually assembled rather than a DIY kit, right?

Well, while the Cougar Aurum isn’t flooded with extras, there’s still more than a little to check out!

Firstly, you get a nice colour product manual containing all manner of useful information as to the technical specifications (and your warranty) for the power supply. In addition, you are also given a ‘badge’ you can apply to your case (or wherever you want it), some screws to attach it to your chassis and even a velcro strap to help keep the spare cables well organised.
