The fans that are included are really nice. They feature a slimmer outer frame, allowing cougar to sneak in there with slightly larger fan blades than usual. They’re still 120mm fans when it comes to fitting them, but their design should mean bigger airflow, lower noise and lower RPM compared to a typical 120mm design. They feature anti-vibration mounts on the corners too, which is always a good sign.
Each fan is hard-wired with two cables, one for the PWM fan control, the other for the RGB lighting. As you can see, each fan is frosted, allowing the central RGB lighting to really shine through.
As for the RGB, that’s easily dealt with thanks to their custom Cougar RGB lighting controller. You can configure all the colours, speeds, effects, brightness, etc from the remote. There’s over a 100 presets built-in, so you’re sure to find something you like. Plus, if you want you can pair it with your 5v header on your motherboard and sync it all to your PC.
I love this too, a magnetic mounting system so it’ll snap to your PC case behind your motherboard; clean, simple, effective.
Of course, this is an AIO, so the bulk of the hardware is a single unit. You get the pump, tubing and radiator pre-configured and ready to rock. It’ll work on all major sockets, and there’s a bunch of mounting kit hardware included in the box.
The pump looks pretty fantastic, with a really clean and compact design. That’s good, as many modern pumps look bloated and conflict with RAM modules these days. The cut-corner design, with a mixture of frosty plastic and clear looks stunning. Plus, being able to see that flow wheel in the middle is awesome, I love seeing something mechanical move on hardware, so that’ll do nicely.
Look closely, that’s not a warranty warning, just a read the damn instructions warning. You can actually refill the coolant on this one. There’s even a bottle of liquid included in the box.
The tubing is mounted using a pivot design, allowing for quick and easy placement of the pump. There’s a strange recess here though, I’m guessing they converted an older mould for a single chamber pump to this newer top to bottom flow design.
A nice and large copper contact plate, which should make easy work of any CPU.
The pump looks fantastic though, clean, simple, and let’s not forget, RGB-lit too!
The radiator, well it looks exactly how you would expect a 240mm radiator to look. There’s a little decal on the side that says Cougar, but other than that, they’ve kept it clean and simple.
