Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
Cougar is introducing two new mechanical gaming keyboards called Puri and Puri TKL to their lineup. These two make use of authentic Cherry MX switches, rated for 50 million clicks and is fully LED backlit. As the name suggests, the Puri TKL is the tenkeyless version, while the regular Puri has a 104-key layout. These two are also meant for portability, which is why Cougar includes a magnetic dust-free cover.
Cougar Gaming Standard
Since these are gaming keyboards they also feature N-key rollover via USB. This ensures gamer inputs do not get a bottleneck and that all simultaneous inputs register.
Additional features are accessible via Fn key combinations. Users can customize the backlit behaviour without software, just through the key inputs. Select from steady, ripple, snake, wave, star, flow, reactive, gradient, and more. There are actually 10 different backlight modes to choose from in all.
The USB cable detaches and there are cable management grooves underneath to keep the desk tidy. To add to the user’s comfort, there are also three levels of height adjustments available via the back side.
Pricing and Availability
The 104-key layout Puri has an MSRP of $79.99 USD, while the tenkeyless version Puri TKL costs $10 less at $69.99. It will be available in retail stores starting October 2017.
