Cougar Introduces The Cratus Mid Tower Case

Cougar has today unveiled their new Cratus mid-tower PC case with a steel-tubed design.

The Cougar Cratus

The Cougar Cratus utilises a precision-tooled steel tube frame which provides exceptional strength and stability providing a non-standard look compared to the average PC case. The mid-tower chassis features ample space for unique looks and a wide variety of components.

Thermal Design

With the Cratus, Cougar has applied the principles of heat convection to engineer optimal thermal performance with the angled interior layout directing a cyclical current of hot air rising and cool air falling to deliver maximum airflow. Further enhancing cooling is the extensive support of plenty of cooling solutions to ensure components remain cool.

Size and Compatibility

The Cratus is a mid-tower case coming in at 283 x 636 x 635mm (WxHxD) and supports up to E-ATX motherboards and 460mm GPUs without fans and radiator at M/B side and 325mm with fans and radiator at M/B side. The case also supports up to 190mm in CPU cooler height as well as 200mm PSUs. When it comes to storage and expansion the case features 7 PCIe slots, two 3.5″ drive bays and three 2.5″ bays.

The Cratus has room for plenty of cooling solutions and comes pre-installed with 3 120mm ARGB fans 2 in the front and 1 in the rear. In the front of the case there is room for 2x 140mm or 120mm fans, in the top there is room for 3x 120mm fans and 2x 140mm fans. On the side of the case, there is room for 3x 120mm fans and 1x 120mm in the rear. For water cooling, the case supports up to a 240mm radiator in the front and up to 360 in the top and side.
