Complete System

Building a system inside the Cougar MG130-G was a breeze, as there’s really a lot of space here, despite it being an mATX case. Albeit, most of the space is due to the length of the case, rather than the height. I ended up using a mini-ITX motherboard on this. Why? Because mATX motherboards have been a bit like unicorns this year, I just don’t have anything modern to put in there, strange!

Sneaking under the shroud here, you can see the Cougar VTC 600 PSU I’ve used. It’s one of their more affordable models, but it’s perfect for a smaller form factor build like this.

As you can see, even the longer cooler design of this AMD Radeon card was no issue, and actually, I can’t think of ANY graphics card that wouldn’t fit in here.

I opted for a low profile cooler from Noctua, not that I needed to, clearly, but I am rather fond of that little L9x65 cooler! Regardless, airflow around the motherboard is superb, although you may want to add a fan or two in the front if you’re not adding an AIO or radiator there yourself.

There’s good cable routing options around the motherboard too. Albeit, cables have to run a little further for mini-ITX, but it still looks neat and tidy.

With everything back in place, it makes a lovely addition to your desktop. I mean, you could put it on the floor, but I do like having smaller cases up on the top.

The glass is heavily tinted, so while it does show off your hardware, it actually hides a lot of stuff too. Any lighter surfaces and LED lights will show up easily enough though.
