The left side panel is held in place with a pair of quick release thumb screws and also features two 120mm fan mounts.
The right side panel is also held in place with thumb screws, but features a clean side panel with no standout features.
Around the front you can see the Cougar Spike keeps many of the style features that Cougar are known for, namely their choice of strong angles and a uniquely shaped air intake, which in my opinion look pretty cool. There’s room for a pair of 5.25″ drive, a smaller bay for a card reader below that.
Further down we have the usual control panel buttons, headset jacks, a single USB 2.0 and a single USB 3.0, funally we have a basic filter system (sponge padding on the interior) for the front air intake, with a hard plastic grille on the front and the gold and black Cougar logo.
Around the back of the chassis we have a top mounted PSU cut-out, a pre-installed 120mm exhaust fan, four expansion slot covers and a small amount of extra ventilation to the bottom right.
The underside of the chassis is fairly clear, with just four rubber stick on pads on the embossed feet and four small screw holes for directly mounting a 2.5″ drive to the base of the chassis interior.
