Fan Speed
As the Cougar STX 550w is an inexpensive model, there is no hybrid mode here. That just leaves us with standard regulated fan speeds. Overall, the results are quite decent. The chart below shows a consistent growth as you would expect with the output and when at full load the fan only reported a speed lightly above 600rpm.
For a small power supply, this could have been a bit of a noisy creature and it simply isn’t.
