Cougar‘s multi-color Ultimus RGB mechanical gaming keyboard is now available from Overclockers UK. You might remember this keyboard being teased last year. It gets the name from having a big durable metal plate, able to withstand most gamer abuse.
It uses a standard 104-key layout layout and provides additional key functions via Fn combo keys. Underneath each keycap are individually RGB LED backlit TTC mechanical switches. Users can choose between either red, black, brown or blue types whichever would fit their lifestyle. These behave similarly to the same color Cherry MX switches. Red and Black types provide linear actuation, with the red being the lighter of the two. Brown and Blue types provide tactile feedback when typing. However, the Blue type has an louder audible click, while the Brown version is more silent.
Like any real gaming keyboard it has full NKRO via USB and has the ability to lock out the windows key. It also runs at 1000Hz polling rate.
Unlike the non-RGB Ultimus, the Ultimus RGB mechanical keyboard is highly customizable. Users can choose to adjust it with up to 16.8 million color options via Cougar UX. Users can choose between different LED behaviour presets, including cycle, reactive, arrow, wave, ripple and more.
The Cougar Ultimus RGB is available at OverclockersUK for only £69.95.
