Recently, Counter-Strike celebrated its 25th anniversary, a significant milestone that few online games have reached. This longevity is likely due to its status as one of the first major online shooters, paving the way for many others.

Now after 25 years, the game is still one of the most popular FPS games around with it still holding the top spot on Steam charts with an average player count of 1.4 Million players. But not all is perfect in the world of Counter-Strike, especially with the games extreme cheating issue which also plagues other Valve games mainly Team Fortress 2.

Next Counter Strike Update

Thanks to a popular Counter-Strike data miner, we may have gained new insight into the next update, potentially including keychains, clothing, pets, new cases, new maps, and possibly an upgraded anti-cheat system.

Key Features

The data mine also revealed potential new maps coming to Counter-Strike, though Cache was not among them. These potential maps include Thera, Memento, Assembly, Pool Day, and Mills.

Interestingly, the data mine uncovered numerous new animations for chickens, allowing players to pat and squeeze them. This suggests that chickens could be placeholders for future pet additions to the game.

Finally, the data mine indicates that the developers are actively working on enhancing the game’s anti-cheat system and optimizing overall performance. The focus on anti-cheat improvements could indicate a new wave of VAC bans on the horizon, potentially helping with the game’s ongoing issue with cheaters.
