According to a few game testers Valve are planning the release of the latest game in the Counter Strike line which hasn’t really been touched for a long time. The game Counter Strike Global Offensive follows on from the predecessors Counter Strike Source, Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike Condition Zero. The development of the game is a partnership between Valve and Seattle based company Hidden Path entertainment.
The game will feature a whole host of new content such as new maps, weapons and game modes but valve has promised to keep the spirit of the old Counter Strike by providing updated versions of old map, gun and game mode favourites.
Doug Lombard, VP of Marketing at Valve said this about the game:
“Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999, For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS’ award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac.”
Valve also reported that the game will be playable at the London Games festival and at the PAX Prime event.
