Released for PlayStation 1 in 1996, Crash Bandicoot is a highly appreciated platform game that was developed by Naughty Dog. As you can probably imagine, this game from 1996 doesn’t impress too much in terms of graphics, but a YouTube user named “Anisotropic” wants to give it an entirely new look in Unreal Engine 4. The Unreal Engine 4 version of Crash Bandicoot will include a regular level as well as a bonus level, and judging by the feedback that we’ve seen so far, it looks like the remake will be received warmly by many gamers. Anisotropic has been working on this project for quite some time now, and the latest version includes a series of improvements and optimizations.
These comprise new wall decorations, exclamation crates, fixed sound attenuation radiuses, a fixed water-related issue and brand new cartoonish textures that give the entire project a more original Crash Bandicoot look. I can only imagine how much work went into the creation of this Unreal Engine 4 version of Crash Bandicoot, and I will definitely check out Anisotropic’s work once it is fully completed. Speaking of Unreal Engine 4 and older games, what title would you like to see remade using this engine? I’d probably go with the original Tomb Raider.
