Crash Bandicoot Speaks For the First Time in Skylanders Academy

Crash Bandicoot is one of the most iconic mascots in video game history and remembered fondly by a large number of people. The series’ enthralling platforming, gorgeous visuals and distinctive characters proved to be a wonderful combination. Despite its age, the original PlayStation titles still hold up quite well and remain extremely fun to play. Of course, Crash Bandicoot didn’t utter a word throughout the games and this is usually a positive step. For example, when Sonic began to speak, the character seemed less charming and it became a source of ridicule.
Unfortunately, Naughty Dog isn’t interested in revisiting the franchise and has moved onto other projects. Instead, Crash Bandicoot appears in the Netflix show Skylanders Academy and alongside a host other Activision characters including Spyro, Stealth Elf, Jet-Vac and more. During the eleventh episode, Crash Bandicoot is transported into the Skylanders world and they have to help him return home via a dark relic. The episode, entitled, Crash Relic involves Crash Bandicoot speaking for the first time with an Australian accent. This voice makes sense considering the character’s background although I’m not too keen on the idea. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is excruciating to watch for many retro gamers and fans of the series.
