Kerbal Space Program is one of the most fun and engrossing games I’ve ever played. Just when you think you can jump in and launch a big rocket to the moon and back, you quickly find yourself knee-deep in a physics lesson and trying to work out why your tiny pod is now a smouldering wreck… the moon will have to wait. That’s the fun of Kerbal, it’s flipping hard, but you keep coming back for more.
Now it seems you’ll have even more content than ever before, as Squad revealed the first expansion for the game. The Making History expansion is pretty significant and allows you to reenact real-life space missions within the limits of what Kerbal has to offer at least.
The main addition here, however, is that you’ll now be able to create your own missions! Using a new drag and drop interface, you can build up the mission parameters, even throw in fuel limits, timers, surprise events and more.
As you would expect from an expansion to a rocket building game, you’ll also find new parts, including some that were inspired by the US and Russian space programs.
No word on the release date just yet or on how much this update will cost, but we’re eager for more updates and will share them as soon as we hear more.
