Creative Sound BlasterX Siege M04 Gaming Mouse Review

Performance

The Creative Sound Blaster Connect software is still in beta, but already it offers you a one-stop hub for all your new Creative peripherals. Here you can customise the RGB lighting profiles to suit your taste, with plenty of effects to play around with too, so you’re pretty spoilt for choice.

The DPI levels can be configured to three stages, from 100 to 12000 DPI, although it’s unlikely you’ll need either extreme, it’s nice to have a large range depending on your play style and desktop resolution. The lift-off distance can be tweaked as low as 2mm, and angle snapping is off by default (good!). What I do love is that you can tweak the acceleration and deceleration independently, and while most won’t need to, I’m sure there are some advanced users out there that will be happy to see it can be adjusted if required.

In terms of performance, the sensor is without a doubt perfect. It tracks beautifully and this is further made possible by the sublime glide of the mouse on any gaming surface. No jitter, no angle snapping, no problems with acceleration, it’s pixel perfect across the whole range. This makes it prime picking for the eSports community or just anyone who cares about accuracy; so any gamer ever then!

The RGB lighting is to die for, giving stunning lighting effects around the base of the mouse that really give it a dynamic and vibrant appearance.

It runs around the entire base of the mouse too, giving it a futuristic floating look in a darker room, but also without it being too in your face at the same time.

The performance of this mouse is grade A from start to finish. The individually mounted LMB and RMB are snappy and responsive, great for frantic button mashing and haven’t skipped a beat in the week or so we’ve been using it.

The mouse wheel is light and agile, yet still has a nice tactile feedback when spun that gives you added accuracy, as well as a responsive click when pressed, making it great of for work and gaming.

Overall, this is one of the slickest looking, feeling and performing mice we’ve seen in a long time, we’ve very impressed!
