Creative Stage 2.1 PC & TV Soundbar and Subwoofer Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Right now, the Creative Stage is on Amazon UK for just £79.99. That’s about £40-50 cheaper than the equivalent from Bose, LG, Sharp, and a whole bunch of others, for honestly, something very much the same. Either they’re overcharging because they have their brands in the TV market more than Creative, or Creative is just undercutting them to make a point. Either way, the Creative Stage is the way to go, it’s a really great price for what you get.

Overview

The soundbar market has long been something I’ve personally hated, with some brands charging enormous amounts of money for truly crap hardware. Most consumers could save a fortune by buying a nice amp and a pair of bookshelf speakers that would be even better. Albeit, I understand there’s an aesthetic some people want, space may be limited, etc. I understand the place for soundbars in the market.

PC or TV?

Fortunately, this Creative Stage suits me nicely. They’ve not put a ridiculous price tag on it, it’s pretty modest actually compared to similarly equipped rivals. Plus it’s just the right size to fit under a good size PC monitor, which I also like. I do think it’s a little small for the TV market, but if you’re TV is 46″ or below, and you’re about 8ft or less from it, I think it’s a good fit for that too.

Powerful Enough!?

Creative do make £1000+ soundbars for people with enormous rooms and TVs. The one we tried at CES 2020 was freaking terrifying and the subwoofer weighted the same as a horse. At £79.99, the Creative Stage is no threat to that beast, but it still packs plenty of punch, will blow you away compared to those limp built-in TV speakers, and I think it looks pretty stylish too.

Should I Buy One?

Affordable, stylish, easy to set up and with a great sound, the Creative Stage is a welcome addition to your desktop setup or modest home TV setup. I don’t think you’ll find a better speaker like this for less money, it’s that simple.
