Creative SXFI AIR C Headset Review

Setup & Performance
I’ve been a long time fan on Creative and their SXFI technology. We’ve even given them some big awards for the technology at CES 2019 and their improvements to it again at CES 2020. I use it DAILY and have done for 16 months now. What I love about this headset, however, is that it’s all built-in, so once you setup the profile, it’s always just plug and play ready. I typically use the Theater headset myself, but its dongle design makes it PC only. With support for PlayStation and Switch, there’s a broader appeal to the C model that is really exciting to me.
The headset is as comfortable as you could hope. They’ve stepped away from the overly-gamer designs of their rivals and gone for something that you could wear at home, in the office, or even on your commute on the train. They’re just really nice headphones. Plus you get the comfort of the soft padding, with the noise isolation of a leather lining on the ear cups, which is brilliant. What that means is that the lower frequencies are locked in more, giving a bigger low-end bass noise.
The sound quality is tremendous even in basic stereo mode. However, with SXFI, the drivers move away from your ears, not literally, and you feel surrounded by a high-end 7.1 surround system. This isn’t virtual surround sound, this is holography, it’s modelled by taking a photograph of your own ears and face to deliver sound how YOU hear it. Try the headphones with my profile, you won’t be impressed. Do you own, and you’ll be wondering how much you can get for your last set of headphones, because you’re about to buy these.
Their microphone tech is pretty standard stuff, but they have tuned it to give more natural speaking tones. It does sound very balanced, and these more in the mid-range EQ, which I like.
