The Creative SXFI Gamer certainly look a lot like the Creative Theater headset, but there’s obviously a few minor ergonomic tweaks here and there. You still get those massive closed-back ear cups though, housing their custom 50mm drivers for a big bassy low-end punch.
They’ve got a ring of RGB around the edge of the ear cup. However, all that spiral dial stuff going on is all RGB lit too. That means it’ll be a lot more colourful than the Theater headset. Of course, you can tweak the RGB and even turn it off. It’s purely there to look slick on your Twitch stream and stuff like that.
The ear cups are huge amounts PU leather and foam, designed to sit softly around your ear for long periods of time.
Down the side, you’ll find quite a few controls. All have a unique shape and texture, which makes them easy to identify and index while wearing the headset. You get used to the feel of each one.
The headset is wired, and runs over USB C, however, it can also be powered by USB and run the 3.5mm jack as normal too.
The silver tags from the Theater model has been swapped out for these black ones, which look awesome. It’s just a bit more aggressive looking.
There’s a little more branding on the headband too, with the Creative logo stamped into the leather.
As I said before, it looks a lot like the Theater, but just a little more “gamer” I guess, and that does make sense. One is sensible and clean, the other is more aggressive-looking.
However, look at them from this side, and you’ll see there’s really very little changed. The ear cups are broadly the same, the housing is similar with just a few changes towards the LED ring and the controls. Both headsets feel quite similar to wear too.
