Crucial has added in a nice little utility to monitor the RAM that is currently installed, although it is only currently compatible with Elite modules. The first page is just a general overview of the installed RAM.
The second page showcases the temperatures of each installed stick. While memory temperatures aren’t the most interesting thing to monitor, it gives you a good insight; here you can see the two modules installed between the CPU and IO ports are actually hotter by 3-4°c.
There is a light page, but that only works with the Tactical Tracer memory kits. The settings page is just like most other settings pages you will come across. You can change the refresh rate of the temperatures or change the temperature monitoring from Fahrenheit to Celcius. Here you can also let the utility notify you or even take control of the computer when the temperatures hit a certain limit.
The Overclock
Breaking through the 2666MHz barrier was difficult and this memory kit topped out at just 2750MHz regardless of what settings were changed, even with voltages set at 1.5v. I was slightly disappointed by this as the previous Elite memory kit we had in managed 2800MHz.
