Crucial updates “Ballistix” range

Crucial’s Ballistix range has always been known for its high performance and stylish designs especially amongst the gaming community. The Ballistix range has just been updated by Crucial as they add the “Tactical” and “Elite” modules to the range.

The Ballistix “Tactical” modules will be available in both DDR2 and DDR3 format, since the demand for DDR2 still remains relatively strong even though DDR3 has gone mainstream. Crucial has yet to confirm what sizes and prices the modules will be but they have been quoted as saying a wide array of speeds and densities. The design of the modules is very attractive, a full black PCB covered by a yellow integrated heat-spreader design.

The Ballistix “Elite” modules are aimed at the higher end market, and consequently are only available in DDR3 since DDR3 offers the faster performance in memory. The Ballistix Elite modules will likely start at 1600MHz and run all the way up to 2400MHz. They will have a fully black PCB and a black high topped heat-sink/spreader. They will also come equipped with thermal sensors so temperature readings can be made.

Crucial says the RAM modules will be available from early September.
