Cryorig A80 280mm Hybrid Air and AIO CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

Price

OK time to blow some minds here, as the pricing on Cryorig is all over the place right now. The A80, one of their flagship coolers, is coming in at just £62.99 from eBuyer, and I dare you to find a better cooler for this kind of money, so feel free to throw post all your “shut up and take my money” memes. How long that price will hold, we don’t know, but with this level of performance we think that anything under £90 is perfectly reasonable.

Overview

The A80 may be the first ever water cooler we’ve seen from Cryorig, but we’re completely blown away with what it has to offer to the market. It also means we’re extremely eager to see what their A40 and A40 Ultimate have to offer too.

The cooling performance isn’t breaking new ground, but it’s toe-to-toe with the best and that’s no bad thing. When overclocked, the A80 didn’t even break a sweat, the fans were slacking and pretty quiet too. This is great news, as it means that 1) you could dial the fans back for even quieter performance if you’re not pushing the clocks too high and 2) dial the fans up higher with minimal increase in noise for even better cooling performance; both great options by any measure.

The design is certainly unique, and while at the core it’s just a standard 280mm AIO, the unique pump design, the 70mm hybrid fan, some stylish looking white fans, all these things add up to a great looking product that’s sure to be a compliment to your system build. For those looking for a visual focal point to their new build, the A80 ticks all the right boxes.

Build quality is rock solid, again nothing revolutionary, but nothing that will disappoint you either. What is even crazier is the level of performance on offer, the build quality and the features you get for a very modest price tag.

Pros

  • Stylish design
  • Hybrid cooling design
  • Easy to install
  • Crazy low price
  • Excellent cooling performance
  • Quiet fans

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • No stock at many major retailers

“If the A80 is a sign of what Cryorig can do with their first venture into the world of water cooling, we can’t see what they come up with in the future. One of the best AIO coolers on the market today and certainly worthy of your attention.”
