Introduction

Cryorig are back on eTeknix once again today and I welcome them with open arms after their last product, the H5, walked away with our Innovation Award. Cryorig may be fairly new to the cooling market, but they’ve already got off to a great start thanks to their sleek designs and competitive prices. We even stopped by their booth at Computex to see what else they had to offer and things certainly looked promising for the brand.

The H7 certainly ticks a lot of boxes; support for most major socket types and limitless ram clearance are always welcome features.

The packaging is really nicely designed, giving the H7 a premium quality straight away.

In the box, you’ll find a universal backplate, fan retention clips, the manual, high quality thermal grease and interestingly, only four screws and four spacers for the mounting kit, suggesting a very simple installation process.

The cooler comes with a fan pre-installed out of the box, so the extra clips in the box are for adding an extra fan should you want to use a push-pull configuration. The fan is of a very good quality and looks stunning with those white fan blades and that colourful CR sticker in the middle. The fan also comes with anti-vibration rubber pads on all four corners, on both sides of the fan.

The fin stack is very well made, with their proprietary Hive Fin structure at the front, the fins change shape as they pass through the fin stack to create Jet Fin Acceleration and Turbulence Reduction. Cryorig says this will improve performance, as well as provide structural strength to the cooler. From handling it and inspecting it, I have to agree, the cooler does feel pretty robust and looks very well made.

There are three heat pipes in the H7, fitted with a U-shape design to give us three vertical pipes on each side of the cooler.

There is a black top plate and the pipes have been capped, further adding to the premium look and feel of the H7.

The cooler comes with the X-Bar quick mount system, which will allow for incredibly quick and easy installation and removal of the cooler.

With the brackets in this position, the cooler supports AMD.

Simply twist them into the next position and they support Intel; very easy!
