The massive success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has pushed the Battle Royale game mode to the forefront. Now, many developers are understandably following suit. Especially with PUBG bosting over 22 million sales worldwide. Fortnite found similar success launching their free to play battle royale mode, so now it is Crytek‘s turn. Their 2013 title Warface now has a new battle royale mode, letting fans play for free on what is essentially the closer thing to a free PUBG. The minimum system requirements are surprisingly forgiving, especially for a Cryek game. Considering how horribly optimized PUBG is, Warface runs better on most hardware. In fact, the hardware requirement they list is quite old.
Warface has a broad variety of game modes available – some are more conservative and classic, suited to the 5-on-5 scenarios, whilst some others are more dynamic and perhaps even, arcade. With Battle Royale, we wanted to create something on the thin verge between the two, and here you have it: quick-paced combat with an element of the unknown – you never know which gun you’re going to get, with action taking place on the largest PvP map ever seen in the game.
