CS:GO has broken another concurrent player count record with over 1.8M players recorded yesterday.
SteamDB is a site that shows various statistics for Steam and games on Steam, one of these games is CS:GO which has just hit a new all-time concurrent player record of 1,818,773 players. This record is very sudden as the game hit 1.4M back in March but it didn’t increase again until May 5th when it hit 1.5M and then yesterday with a whopping 1.8M.
I don’t follow CSGO and I only play at our bi-weekly eTeknix game nights so I don’t know what has caused this sudden spike in players, though other people do. u/firefox72 on reddit seems to believe it is likely down to the last Major starting on Monday as well as the release of the viewer pass which has caused this sudden spike in player count. Either way CS:GO is a fine example of a game that stands the test of time.
