Custom PC Squeezes GTX 1080 SLI into Xbox One-Sized Case

It’s unlikely you’ll find a capable SLI’d PC as small as this. An ambitious Australian gamer had the case for this beauty custom-built for nearly $4,000 (Canadian – approximately $3,000 US), which manages to pack in two GTX 1080 graphics cards, two SSDs, and an Intel Core i7 processor.

The case was designed by Canadian custom enclosure creator Protocase for Australian IT consultant Lukasz Dyjakon which, all in, cost $7,336.21 (Canadian – $5,586.52 US) and measures 30 x 30 x 10cm, which is around the same size as an original Xbox One.

The impressive PC includes an Asus MAXIMUS VIII GENE Motherboard, Intel Core i7-6700K CPU, Noctua CPU Cooler, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2 SSD, Ultra II 960GB 2.5″ SSD, two EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Founders Edition cards in SLI, and an FSP Group 850W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply, plus 4 x USB 3.0 and an HDMI pass-through for VR headsets.

“The case is designed so that the 2 hottest components in the case,” Protocase writes, “the CPU and graphics cards (see technical specifications below), are separated and have access to fresh air directly from outside the case. As you can see from the photos below, the CPU is accessing fresh air from the left side of the case, and the dual graphics cards are accessing fresh air from the right side of the case.”
