Cyberpunk 2077 May Not Arrive Until Mid-2019

If you’re a fan of the Witcher 3, you’re likely also a fan of the talented developers at CD Projekt Red. Having won many awards around the world for their incredible RPGs, we’ve all been waiting patiently for what comes next, Cyberpunk 2077. The team got a large funding grant from the Polish government to help them create techniques for ‘seamless multiplayer’, ‘animation excellence’, ‘cinematic feel’, and ‘city creation’. However, it now seems they’re pushing forward with all of this new tech, as reported on NeoGaf, a lot of new job postings have appeared on their website.
The developer is now hiring for a new multiplayer specialist, animation expert, character artists, environment artists and much more. The fact they’re only looking for these people now does suggest the game is still quite a way off, which is a shame, but good things come to those who wait I guess.
Information from an investor call last February suggested the game would be released by 2019, but with the new information of new staff, and virtually no information such as videos or images about the game to date, mid-2019 would make more sense, and fit in with the companies release cycle, hiring patterns, etc.
Obviousl,y we’d love to see it sooner, but with this game bringing a new world, new characters and a new story, we can’t wait to see it in action. Then they can get cracking on The Witcher 4, but again, it’ll be a good few years before we see that one too!
