Throughout the Summer, we were treated to rather a lot of news surrounding Cyberpunk 2077. Since then though, things have dried up quite significantly. We, unfortunately, saw nothing of them at EGX2018 and it appears that in terms of news, we shouldn’t expect anything in the near future either.
In a report via DSOGaming, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that while they will be attending The Video Game Awards 2018, there will be nothing from Cyberpunk 2077 at the show!
Well, despite all the hype surrounding the game (and yes, some are already calling this out to be one of the greatest games of all time) it is still very, very, early into its development. How early? Well, this is anticipated to be a release title for the next generation of consoles. Given that we’re not expecting them until 2020, you get the idea.
In fairness, I would agree with that. As above, the Summer was pretty heavily flooded with news on this game. Given that the current quiet spell has lasted nearly 6 months, it doesn’t do much to help keep the hype train momentum going. This could (and probably) will change come early 2019, but remember, this is CD Projekt Red.
You could argue that only they and Rockstar Games tend to release finished games these days. So let’s given them a break!
