This week I’ve been spending some time with the F.R.E.Q. 5 PC gaming headset from Cyborg. Cyborg are essentially the brand name for the PC Market of MadCatz, much in the same way they have the Tritton brand for gaming audio, Eclipse for home and office, Saitek for their simulation gear and of course the MadCatz brand for their casual/pro gaming equipment.
I’m a big fan of MadCatz my self, and it’s hard not to be since I personally reviewed the MLG Pro Controller for Xbox 360, the Wireless Xbox 360 Racing Wheel, FLY9 Flight Stick, Tritton Detonator Headset for Xbox 360 and they all went down a storm and were great products in their own categories, so I have some what higher hopes than I should have for this product, but can the F.R.E.Q.5 live up to the high standards of quality that they have set for them selves with their other product ranges? lets hope so.
This headset is currently on the market for a bit over a £100 depending on where you look, but a quick can find it closer to that £100 mark, either way its still not a cheap headset, but its certainly not the most expensive on the market either. With a hundred pounds price tag over its head this headset is going to have to have some tricks up its sleeve to make people part with their money, come and take a look at the next few pages where I will be taking a closer look at the F.R.E.Q.5 to see exactly what it has to offer, before putting it to the test in our performance section.
