D-Link DCS-4622 360-degree Full HD PoE Camera
Vigilance 360 Full HD PoE Camera (DCS-4622)
The D-Link Vigilance 360 Full HD, PoE Network Camera, is a Full HD fisheye surveillance solution with either 180 or 360 degree viewing modes, 2-way audio, microSD card slot on board, and 25 ft. Night vision. That’s pretty much a complete solution in a single product.
Whole Room Coverage
The DCS-4622’s fisheye lens allows you to have either a 180º panoramic view or a complete 360º view. The 180 degrees are perfect when mounted on the wall, and the 360-degree view allows you to monitor a whole room with a ceiling placement. It makes it a camera that catches everything.
This is a Full-HD camera with a 3MP video resolution for crisp and clear recording. It features built-in IR LEDs too which offer night vision at a distance of up to 7.5 metres.
The Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) allows you to easily identify subjects in any lighting with this digital video enhancement. Further, the camera is equipped with a 3D filter which reduces noise in low-light environments.
Two-Way Connection and Built-In Memory
Most cameras are one-way solutions, that’s a given by nature. But it is something that easily can be changed into a two-way solution by adding a built-in speaker next to the microphone. With it, you can speak back and not just listen to what’s going on. You can scream at an intruder, scare your life-partner, or tell your pet to get off the couch. Just as a few examples.
There’s also a built-in memory function within the DCS-4622. Well, that’s not totally true. There is a microSD card slot where you can add your own memory card for direct storage within the device.
High-Resolution Video Recording
The DCS-4622 is an indoor camera with a 3 Megapixel (2048 x 1536) resolution. Depending on set resolution, it can capture between 25 and 30 fps. The panoramic fisheye lens should deliver crisp images while the digital pan, tilt, and zoom (dPTZ) allow you to check out the details.
Video compression is also used to optimise the bandwidth usage and deliver the best possible quality. The camera uses simultaneous H.264 and MJPEG format compression with H.264/MJPEG multicast streaming and JPEG for still images.
Flexible Placement and Power
With the given lens options, the DCS-4622 has versatility in its placement. You can mount it on a wall or ceiling depending on your needs. It is quick to do, and it is also easy as it only requires a few screws.
The camera is just as versatile when it comes to power and access. It is PoE compliant which allows a setup and connection with a single cable. You can still power it locally even though that isn’t the intended type of usage. PoE makes the setup as easy as possible as you only need to run a single cable from your switch to the camera. Data and power are both transmitted through this which halves the number of holes you need to drill and eliminates the need for a power outlet within close distance.
Since the DCS-4622 is wall or ceiling mounted, a reset button on the rear would be impractical. Instead, the button is on the cable.

Package and Accessories
The package is no surprise at this point as it is the same as it was with the previous two cameras. The DCS-4622 comes in a simple brown box with all the content wrapped up nicely inside.
Within the box is the camera itself along with mounting tools, a quick installation guide, and an alignment sticker to help with the installation.
