One of the best PlayStation 3 emulators out there, RPCS 3, now supports one of the best action games ever made for that particular console. We’re talking about Dante’s Inferno, which is now playable at a smooth 60FPS, all thanks to the hard work of some very talented people. The game is nearly perfectly emulated, but there are a few issues to keep an eye out for. These include graphical glitches, but nothing that would prevent the player from completing the story. One thing that we do need to address concerns the PC requirements for Dante’s Inferno in RPCS 3. Apparently, the biggest issue is related to the CPU.
In order to be able to play Dante’s Inferno smoothly, you’re going to need an i5-4690 clocked at 3.5 GHz. However, since the game’s audio is linked to the framerate, the team behind the emulator suggests a more powerful CPU. That’s because the sound stutters when the FPS dips below 60. Whatever prompted the developer to tie the sound to the FPS is beyond me, but we’ll just have to live with it. Sadly, this nicely emulated version of Dante’s Inferno is not yet available to the public. Maybe the team is still trying to polish it a bit. Come to think of it, high-resolution support would definitiely be welcomed.
Developed by Visceral Games and published by EA, Dante’s Inferno came out in 2010. The game has received “generally favorable reviews” upon release, especially due to its art style and level design. However, some critics pointed out monotonous and repetitive gameplay in the later half of the game. Still, the same was said about God of War, and that title is still highly appreciated by gamers.
