Dark Knight Trilogy Finally Gets 4K UltraHD Blu-Ray Release
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy as well as Interstellar are finally getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray release. The Dark Knight trilogy includes Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. All four are coming just in time for the holiday season on December. Best Buy currently lists the release date for December 5. However, Interstellar is currently on the Amazon list it for December 19.
Interstellar comes in a three-disc set (1 BD-66, 2 BD-50) with a digital copy. It will support HDR10 and has an aspect ratio of 2.39:1, 1.78.1. No other information is available for the Dark Knight trilogy 4K UltraHD Blu-Ray release for now.
Aside from Interstellar, another recent Nolan work is getting a 4K release as well: Inception. The movie predates Interstellar by four years and is a visual-feast on its own that would look at a home theater in 4K. In fact, the movie earned Wally Pfister an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. It also got the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2011. Although no release date is available on Amazon yet, it is listed on CDon.DK for pre-order for 299 Krona with a December 18, 2017 release date.
Pricing Information
All three Dark Knight films will be available via Best Buy for $24.99 each ($75 for all three). Interstellar costs quite a bit more currently on pre-order on Amazon for $27.35 (originally $31.99).
