Datamining Uncovers Abandonded Content in Modern Warfare Remastered

PC gamers have been ripping apart the files for Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered, uncovering everything the developers left out but didn’t exactly clean up either. Not only did they find a whole load of weapons from previous CoD games, they even found a bunch of new stuff too!
Melee weapons, guns, even unused microtransactions have been uncovered in the games files. One of the most interesting is the melee weapons, such as the shovel, and they may have been trying out the feature only to later abandon it after some play testing. There’s also a Kamchatka automatic shotgun, which hasn’t even appeared in the series before, but perhaps the dev team just wanted to play around with it; textures are missing, the 3D models and animation are all there.
Mostly, what has been found looks like scrapped content rather than something coming in the future, which we hope is true, as microtransaction content was discovered too. Perhaps they will add loot drops, trading, DLC and more in the future to this game, but only time will tell. For now, however, I’d rather they keep it closer to the original experience.
