Day 3 @ Insomnia i46

Here we are on Day 3 of Insomnia i46, we kick off today by taking a closer look at what is on offer in the exhibition hall, with so much on offer its hard to keep track of all the competitions, prizes, fun games, free giveaways, displays, product presentations, tournaments and more than seem to spontaneously happen all over the show, so lets start by taking a closer look at some of the more popular booths down here at i46.

Antec have a great presence here at the show, getting a lot of gamers dropping by to have a game of counter strike on their rigs. Their booth is fairly close to the main stage, so their competition on Heroes of New Earth 3 v 3 knock out to win a whole load of Antec products, from chassis, to power supplies and even their cleaning products, seem to be going down really with the crowds.

The eTeknix booth is located within the Antec stand, so as always its been great fun working along side them here at the show.

Overclockers UK have a large presence here this weekend, with their service to have good delivered direct to your desk here at i46 proving popular with many of the games who need components ASAP. They also have on their booth a stunning racing rig running Shift 2 on a Ultima 9700i Beast PC, with the Logitech G27 wheel fitted to an Omega Racing Rig. As well as the games they are displaying four BitFenix Prodigy chassis running i7 systems, the Titan 8700i Pulse, 9650i Laser system, two bespoke arcade units running Street Fighter IV, they are also giving away free sweets, everyone loves free sweets.

Scan are out in force too with easily the biggest booth of the show, not that size matters of course, but with so much on display you can’t help but take notice of what they have brought to the show, with many of their top end systems out on parade including the fantastic Predator system, 3XS Z77 Vengeance OC, 3XS G32 OC, a whole host of current and new products from Kingston, as well as an interactive version of i45 overclocking tutorials.

They’re also playing host to an interesting contest, giving out 500 helium filled balloons with tickets inside, find the right ticket, win one of many great prizes later this afternoon, if your down at i46, I suggest you go pick up a balloon before they’re all gone.

Kingston are even doing a deal (via the Scan booth) on their popular 3k SSD with the 120GB & 240GB editions down to £129.98 and £64.98 receptively, as well as the 1GB Kingston KHX1600 being reduced to £28.00 for the remainder of the show.

CCL Computers are another of the many retailers / re-sellers attending i46, again bringing something unique to their booth by giving away free popcorn, even if it is sweet flavor (yuck!), a timed contest to build a pc the fastest, I managed 4min 5sec, putting me in 4th place, but a good effort non the less. They also have upgraded their light chaser this year with a 3D edition which is certainly keeping gamers active on the booth when they’re not playing Serious Sam 3 on the four M-ITX (CM Elite 120) builds they brought along with them.

CM Storm are out in force too with a stunning system build in the amazing Cosmos II chassis, fitted with a dual zeon motherboard and water cooled setup that really catches the eye.

They also have a few competitions going with some great prizes, where you can throw balls into 3 pc cases to score points, not as easy as it sounds I might add, I only won a lanyard. They have also brought along their range of peripherals including their new ambidextrous mouse and a whole lot more.

QuietPC are doing a great job of keeping the crowds entertained with a full Rock Band setup, allowing people to come into the booth and rock out all day long. A guess how many sweets are in a tub competition where you can win a Z77-D3h motherboard with a i5 3570k CPU, they also have on display a couple of rigs, some XPredator PGB B chassis and the Templarius Telum chassis and headset.

MadCatz are also down at i46, showcasing their upcoming flying game Damage Inc, which has seen some great interest here at the show, we will have that reviewed for you as soon as we can here at eTeknix, one to look forward to.

The excitement doesn’t end there either, with InWin, Steelseries, MadCatz, Midland Computers, iiyama, Kick Energy and more all having something to show and entertain this weekend, but rest assured we will bring you more coverage of the other booths as well as the video reviews of the booths and events which we are currently filming to keep you entertained this weekend, so stay tuned to the site, Facebook or twitter for all the latest coverage from eTeknix.
