It’s no secret that the development of Dead Island 2 has been nothing short of hell. In fact, there have been many instances over the last several years where it appeared that the game itself was more dead than its zombie antagonists. Over the last year, however, things do appear to have gotten firmly back on track and following an official Twitter post, we have a double whammy of amazing, and honestly quite surprising, news!
Firstly, Dead Island 2 has officially gone gold. – Secondly, its release date has been moved up by a whole week! – Yep, put simply, it’s finished and it’s releasing early!
So, what does ‘going gold’ actually mean? Well, in a nutshell, development on the game has officially ended and Dead Island 2 is now officially ready to be released. Well, yes, overlooking the fact that it’ll almost certainly have a day one patch. Given the monumentally awful development history this title has had, however, it seems more than a little incredible that work on it has finally finished and we will be able to check it out in the very near future.
And by the very near future, it’s actually been finished so quickly that it’s now coming a week sooner than originally scheduled (well, after it previously saw around half a dozen delays). – Yes though, Dead Island 2 is set for release now on April 21st and with its ‘Gold’ status, this does seem to be incredibly set in stone! – If you do, therefore, want to learn more about it, you can visit its official website via the link here!
