How Much Does it Cost?

The DeepCool AK620 Digital is available now for just £74.99, while the AK620 Zero Dark Zoria is only £69.99. The Digital obviously costs a little more due to its RGB top plate that has a digital temperature readout on it, however, if all you want is the cooler, the Zoria is cheaper and every bit as performant as the Digital for £5 less. However, if you’re really just watching your wallet, the stock black version of this cooler is just £64.99, and was on sale for £55 at the time of writing, and again, performs just as well as the others. Either way, this cooler thrashes coolers that cost £100+, so it’s hard to argue with the value offered by any version of it.

Overview

DeepCool continues to show its prowess in the cooling market. Unlike many of the big brands out there, DeepCool designs and manufactures all of its products, while many other brands either design their own products and have someone else make them, or simply rebrand a product from another company; Asetek would be a prime example of this. There’s nothing wrong with the other solutions, of course, the industry is built upon this system. However, DeepCool has control over every step of the product’s life, and it seems to give them an edge when it comes to the designs, performance, and most importantly the price.

The AK620 is a fantastic cool, and I loved the stock one, and the digital one, but I think the Zero Dark Zoria gets the top recommendation from me just for being so visually unique. Sure, I do not know the game, nor do I intend to seek it out in the future. However, the cooler doesn’t scream ZORIA at me, it’s just black and yellow with some cool fantastic graphics on it, and well, that’s something I like regardless of the source material.

With the AK620 cooler outperforming the likes of the Noctua NH-U12A, and even the D15S in some cases, while being significantly cheaper, and featuring fantastic build quality from a trusted brand name, it’s pretty much impossible to ignore DeepCool. They’re every bit as good as the other big-name brands, and their continued excellent performance in our reviews is proof of that.

Should I Buy One?

This isn’t a cooler design for everyone, but at the same time, you have to appreciate that they’ve done something unique and interesting, without going completely overboard with it. There’s no RGB here, just a cool graphic and some interesting colours, which is a refreshing change in today’s market. Of course, with the price of the all-black AK620 Zero-Dark being £10-15 cheaper than the Zoria edition, I guess DeepCool’s biggest rival to this product is themselves!
