In terms of temperature control, be it at the stock of overclocked settings, the DeepCool AS500 performs quite well and perhaps better than many might have anticipated from an air cooler that is, relatively speaking, on the reasonably small size. Without a doubt, however, the most impressive results can be seen in the acoustics.
Put simply, this cooler is amazingly quiet. Topping the charts both in our stock and overclocked testing, it is exceptionally impressive that despite the (relatively speaking) decent manner in which in keeps the temperatures under control, the fan remains practically whisper quiet. This is especially so, however, in overclocked where you are always prepared for things to get a little vocal.
Who knows though, with a little tweaking to the fan speed settings in the BIOS, you could probably find a really sweet spot here. If you do, however, value ridiculously quiet performance slightly more than amazingly low CPU temperatures, then the DeepCool AS500 certainly seems like an excellent option.
