DeepCool has one of the absolute best air coolers on the market right now, with their Assassin IV delivering some seriously cool and quiet performance in all of our benchmarks last year, but also being one of the absolute greatest-looking coolers we’ve ever seen! The only downside was that it might be a little on the big side for some mid-tower cases, and the simple solution to that is to make a smaller and slightly more affordable version with the Assassin 4S. Yes, they did number it “IV” before and now changed it to a “4” likely so that the new one doesn’t read “IVS” which looks weird.
If you want to read my full review of the truly exceptional DeepCool Assassin IV, you can do so right here. However, if you want to read on, you’ll find the Assassin IV results will be in our comparison charts later in this review.
The DeepCool ASSASSIN 4S is a dual-tower, seven-heat pipe, single-fan premium air cooler that offers efficient cooling in an elegantly designed shell. With the option to switch between Quiet and Performance modes, the ASSASSIN 4S is more sophisticated than your average cooler. Equipped with a specially designed 140mm centre FDB PWM fan and a casing that channels air through the entire cooler, the quiet assassin has returned with a new aesthetic. Maximum RAM compatibility is ensured in large part by the 140mm fan being positioned in the centre of the cooler.
