DeepCool Captain 120EX White Edition CPU Cooler Review

A Closer Look
The fan is a gorgeous TF120 black and white edition, with some really cool looking fan blades, which we hope equate to good airflow and low noise.
The corners of the fan are treated with rubber anti-vibration pads, and there a PWM fan header with black braiding; overall, this is a great looking fan.
The white finish on the pump housing really gives this cooler a premium look and feel, it’s a soft white rather than a glossy finish that stops it from looking cheap, and with the addition of black tubing and black fins on the top, it’s sure to look stunning once fitted to your system.
There are two screws pre-fixed to the sides, ready to be screwed down to the motherboard support bars. On the side, you’ll find two pivot mounts for the tubing, which should ease the installation process, as well as a black braided fan header for powering the pump.
There’s also a small GamerStorm logo on the left and right sides. Of course, one of the major features here is the external tubing which is LED lit, this will allow you to see coolant flowing around the pump when it’s powered up.
There’s some pre-applied thermal paste, which is great for those looking for a quick and easy installation.
The polished copper contact surface is nice and large too, so it should have no troubles providing a clean coverage even on some of the larger CPU designs.
The radiator has been treated with a matte white paint, which doesn’t look great on the fins, as there are obviously hard to reach sections when it comes to painting. Don’t worry though, you won’t really see those bits when the radiator and fans installed in your chassis.
The tubing is nice and thick, but still has a lot of flex to it. There’s a thick black braiding which not only improves the durability of the tubes, but also gives them a nice premium quality look and feel.
Overall, a very nice looking cooler, but let’s get it on the test bench and see how it performs.
